Dad's day off

Tom work's four tens and has every Wednesday off. We try to do something worthwhile on these days and have some fun with the boys. Today we visited my new neice in the hospital and took the boys swimming at grandma's pool later in the afternoon.

She is so adorable! She was a awake the whole time we were there, I've never seen a newborn so alert. The boys were so cute with her, they told us that they wanted a baby sister- oh how I wish! Darren and Rachel named her Abigail and will most likely call her Abby. I still can't believe that my little brother is a daddy! I know he and Rachel will make great parents and we wish them the best.

Doesn't Tom look like he needs a little girl in his life?!

We love Tom's parents new home, it's centrally located in the valley and most importantly- it has a community pool! We use it at least once a week. The boys love going there, and then hanging out at Grandma's house. It's been their favorite thing to do this summer. KC loves hanging out in the shallow end, you know- where he can still see the bottom. Xander on the other hand is our little fish. He loves jumping in the water and insists on swimming by himself, which is why he is forced to wear the floaties.

Childhood Love Letters

KC drew Attley a dolphin and a dalmation on the front side of the paper, on the back side he drew her unicorns because he says girls like unicorns.

Our 4 year old has a girlfriend! Yes, you heard me right, a girlfriend. Her name is Attley and she was in KC's preschool class. She's a real cutie, and as Tom puts it, a little forward! She calls KC often on the phone, almost daily. Their conversations never last long, for example this is how KC's side of the conversation usually goes: "Hi Attley . . .um, I'm good . . .what are you doing? . . .um, I'm just playing . . .okay bye Attley." That's it! Sweet and short. Hey at least they aren't using up all my cell minutes. Then this past week KC was thrilled to see that he had recieved mail in the mail box from Attley. A love letter, looks like scribbles to me, but indeed a love letter. Should I be concerned that my son is being chased at such an young age? Is it an indication of what is to come in his teens? I'm not sure, but we think it's cute and funny for now. So what does a little boy do when he recieves love letters from his girlfriend? Well, he returns the favor, of course!
