thoughts of the moment....

11:38pm, Monday night on the eve of the tax filling deadline for 2012.  Yep, finally got it done!  Today was a great day.  The morning was a nice one.  The alarm went off as usual at about 5am (the days are always attempted to start with a bang), about 25 hits of the "snooze" button later Little Will finally has his morning moment of glory.  He announces to the world (or the Harris House anyway) that he has arose from his deep slumber and is ready to be removed from his soaking wet underpants (don't freak out, he still wears diapers).  Alas, he is changed and the Harris House is operating at full capacity. "K.C., are you ready yet?"  "Xander, you need to wear clean underwear (seriously, do any of you have to remind your kid to wear clean ones?)."  I love being home in the morning.  It is a work of art to watch my beautiful bride quarterback the events of the morning.    As the boys left for school I realized that I was late for work.  aaahhh, To be able to witness the majestic performance of my little family in the furry of a late start, it was worth it.  Man, they are fun.  Are other families this fun?

Off to work.  Sports talk radio?  Na, what's on the FM dial?  NOTHING!  Oh yeah, the greatest app for the iphone ever, Pandora!!!!  Let's do this thing!  Over the past few weeks I have spent the bulk of my "listening" time with the songs of Hawaii.  I have felt a great need to connect to my grandmother.  She loved her songs and music.  Man, I feel good!  That's right, I am one quarter Hawaiian and DANG proud of it.  "How is grandpa?  What is it like to be physically alone?  Is he listening to her music as well?"

"I'm curious about your allocation Mr. Smith.  I would like to review that with you in greater depth."  There is such a thing as diminishing returns, it's real.  To much stock exposure is an actual concern.  "Mr. Smith, what is the money for?  How are you planning to spend it?"  Is there any topic in this world that has a sorter fuse to "metaphoric dynamite" than a persons money?  If there is, don't choose a career focused on helping people with it!  It's been a successful day.  Goals were met and exceeded, even the freeway was smooth sailing.

Alexander Kali'i Harris : "Dad, will you be at my tee-ball game tomorrow?"  "Dad, can I buy my teacher some flowers?" " Dad, is it family night or bishopric night?  If it's family night can we get Slurpee's?"  "Dad, whens can we go camping? This day or another day?"  "Dad, is moms your girlfriend?"  What an awesome kid!!!!

Omelets  for dinner.

She is asleep!  So beautiful, she has earned this slumber.  Non stop, all day everyday.  Someone is needing her, someone is waiting for her.  Always moving, always working, always loving.  How did I win her over?  The picture shows that the last ten years have not touched the youth in her skin or the light in her eyes.  She is as beautiful today as she ever was.  "Son, she is worth the risk of putting your whole self out there.  Take the higher road, leave the door open."  These are the words of a father to a son who was heart broken and angry. (Don't dear john your missionaries girls!)  Dad- thank you!  She is everything and more!

12:26 am, Tuesday Morning.  I suppose it's time for bed.
